Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is a highly effective treatment for various skin conditions, including warts, skin tags, and certain lesions. However, it can sometimes be challenging to determine if a skin spot or lesion is suitable for cryotherapy or if another treatment approach is necessary. Consulting a doctor with the training and experience to assess your skin condition accurately is crucial for the best outcomes.

The sooner a problematic skin condition is identified and treated, the sooner a treatment and management plan can be implemented to ensure positive results. Don’t delay booking an appointment if you are concerned about any skin spots or lesions; early intervention with cryotherapy can provide peace of mind and effective treatment.

Our Cryotherapy Process

Regular skin checks are a vital habit that can identify problematic skin spots or lesions before they become more serious. Our cryotherapy assessments are straightforward and efficient, often taking under 15 minutes.

The process begins with our specialist doctor thoroughly examining your skin using a magnifying lamp, identifying areas of concern. If needed, they will use advanced tools such as a dermatoscope or computerised dermatoscopy to assess the lesion and determine if cryotherapy is the most suitable treatment option.

For patients at higher risk, such as those with fair skin, a family history of skin conditions, or multiple lesions, additional imaging or total body photography may be recommended to ensure a comprehensive assessment.

Cryotherapy treatments for simpler conditions are often performed during the session. However, more complex cases may require additional consultations or follow-up appointments.

Most assessments can be completed while remaining in your underwear, as conditions requiring cryotherapy are less common in areas like the breasts, genitals, or buttocks. However, if you have concerns about a specific spot in these areas, you may request to have it examined as part of your consultation.
